Multiple data points allows for accelerated validation times through more accurate computational models

Accelerate development cycles and eliminate time by reducing instrumentation labor times from 3 weeks to 3 hours per measurement, by providing multiple points of data with one port to provide a more fully characterized system. Sensor systems that can provide multiple points of data on a component have significant advantages over systems that provide field/surface averaged data. The first and foremost advantage is the ability to provide redundancy. Second is a complete characterization and higher resolution of the measurement field. Third, is the ability to pin-point anomalous areas and recommend corrective measures.

Utilizing this ability enables better prediction of component material limits and hence, component life. By being able to have multiple points of data on experimental component testing enables accelerated validation timelines through development of more accurate computational models. Having multiple sensors on a rotating component is a logistical nightmare in terms of the setup cost, difficulty, and time.

However, Sensatek has demonstrated wireless sensing of multiple sensors on rotating test components at speeds beyond 17,000 RPM in our rotational rig using only one access port. Figure below show the Sensatek GUI that demonstrates multiple sensor capabilities.
